Treat an AI answer as a confident draft from a knowledgeable but unreliable colleague: useful, often right, but never authoritative on its own. Trust comes from verification, not from how convincing the output sounds.
The core mindset
An LLM generates fluent text whether or not it's true (it's a next-token predictor, not a fact store). A hallucinated API and a real one read identically. So you cannot judge trust by tone — only by what you can confirm.
