Behavioral questions ask about past experiences to assess soft skills, problem-solving, and fit (e.g. "Tell me about a time you handled a conflict"). Answer them with specific stories, ideally using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
What behavioral questions assess
They explore HOW you've behaved in real situations (a predictor of future behavior):
→ teamwork, conflict, leadership, handling failure/challenges, communication, initiative
→ examples: "a time you disagreed with a teammate", "a project that failed", "how you
handled a tight deadline", "a difficult bug you solved"
→ they assess SOFT SKILLS and judgment, not just technical ability.
