My rule: I should be able to explain it in the first 30 seconds, and the technical detail is available only if they ask.

1. **Headline first (BLUF).** "Our checkout will start failing under load within ~2 months unless we invest now." Bottom Line Up Front.
2. **Quantify the impact in their terms.** Money, customers, risk, time. "Each hour of downtime costs roughly $40k in lost orders and damages trust with our top accounts."
3. **Give 2-3 options with trade-offs.** Cost vs. speed vs. risk. CEOs make decisions; give them a decision to make.
4. **State your recommendation and the ask.** "I recommend option B. I need approval to pause feature X for three weeks."
